Nagpur: Under Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s Nuisance Detection Squad (NDS) took action against 12 establishments on Tuesday and collected a fine of 75,000.
In Dharampeth, Gandhibagh and Satranjipura Zones, the NDS initiated action against 9 establishments in connection with banned plastic bags and a fine of Rs.55,000 was recovered and 642 kg of plastic was seized.
A fine of Rs 20,000 was collected by the NDS from Kanchan Sari Centre, Krishna Shoes on Mount Road, Sadar, Raskunj Restaurant in Main Road, Sadar and Hit Me Cafe in Sadar under Dharampeth Zone. A fine of Rs 15,000 was recovered from Darpan Sales at Gandhibagh, Chetan Sweets at Timki and Nimje Traders at Nangaputla Chowk, Itwari under Gandhibagh zone. A fine of Rs 20,000 was collected from the shops of Guru Gobind Singh at Tin Nal Chowk, Itwari and Kalpana Plastics at Shahid Chowk, Itwari under Satranjipura Zone.
Similarly, action was taken against Jaiswal Liqour Shop at Subhash Nagar Ring Road under Laxmi Nagar Zone for spreading garbage along the road and a fine of Rs.5,000 was collected. Action was taken against Pride Residency (Builders) of Ward No.35 Narendra Nagar under Dhantoli Zone for dumping construction materials along the road and a fine of Rs.10,000 was collected.
Action was taken against MJ Motors at Hasanbagh Chowk under Nehrunagar Zone for spreading garbage along the road and a fine of Rs.5,000 was collected. This operation was carried out under the leadership of Veersen Tambe, chief of the Nuisance Detection Squad.
