Nagpur PSI dies of electrocution while washing vehicles at Rural Police HQ

Nagpur: In a tragic incident, a Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) attached to Local Crime Branch of Nagpur Rural Police died of electrocution while washing government vehicles at Nagpur Rural Police Headquarters here, on Wednesday morning.

The deceased cop has been identified as PSI Sahebrao Bahale.

According to police sources, Bahale was cleaning government vehicles at Rural HQ under Kapil Nagar Police Station. During the same, he was reportedly electrocuted and fell on the ground.

Some cops, who were present there, then rescued Bahale and rushed him to Alexis Hospital in Mankapur. However, he was declared dead on arrival.

Speaking to Nagpur Today, Rahul Makhnikar, Additional Superintendent of Police (SP), Nagpur Rural Police, expressed his sorrow on the death of Bahale and extended his condolences to his family.

“Kapil Nagar Police have registered a case of accidental death in this connection. Following the investigation the exact reason behind the death could be ascertained,” Makhnikar said.
