Nagpur: After Summer Vacation, the courts at Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court are scheduled to resume regular sittings from Monday, with 10 judges constituting two Division and six Single Judge Benches.
The first Division Bench consisting of Senior Judge Sunil B Shukre and G A Sanap has been entrusted with all types of Public Interest Litigation (PIL) cases, all criminal work along with first appeals, contempt appeals and petitions.
Justice Atul Chandurkar and Justice Amit B Borkar will constitute the other Division Bench with the assignment of Civil writ petitions, Letters Patent Appeals, Family Court Appeals, and all other Division Bench civil work not assigned to the other Division Bench.
The Single Bench civil jurisdictions have been allotted to Justices Manish Pitale (civil writ petitions, civil revision applications, Appeals against Orders and arbitration cases); S M Modak (first appeals of even years, second appeals of even years, Miscellaneous Civil Applications and the cases under the Companies Act and Banking Regulation Act), and Justice Mukulika S Jawalkar (first appeals of odd years, second appeals of odd years, and remaining Single Judge Bench civil work).
The Single Judge criminal work will be handled by Justice Vinay Joshi (criminal writ petitions, criminal applications under Section 482 CrPC, and applications under Section 407 of CrPC); Justice A G Gharote (all criminal appeals and criminal revision applications); and Justice Anil S Kilor (regular and anticipatory bail applications and remaining Single Bench criminal work).
