Chandrapur was hottest place in the country with highest maximum temperature on Wednesday at 44.2 degrees Celsius
Nagpur: Heatwave has gripped Nagpur and entire Vidarbha. Harsh Summer is being experienced in the Second Capital with mercury hitting the 42.1 degree Celsius mark on Wednesday.
Chandrapur once again recorded the highest maximum temperature in the country on Wednesday with the maximum temperature at 44.2 degrees Celsius followed by Akola at 43.2 degrees Celsius.
As per forecast by Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), heatwave conditions will prevail all over Vidarbha, including Nagpur, till April 2. The maximum temperatures recorded at other cities in Vidarbha are as follows: Wardha – 42.8 degrees Celsius, Washim – 42.5, Yavatmal – 42.0, Amravati – 41.8, Brahmapuri – 41.8, Gondia – 41.5, Gadchiroli – 40.2 and Buldhana 39.8 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature all over Vidarbha has marked more than 4 degrees Celsius above normal on Wednesday.
The Weather Department has predicted the maximum and minimum temperatures to increase further in coming days which will increase discomfort among citizens.
