Nagpur: With the skyrocketing of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in Second Capital of the State and scare of Omicron variant looming large, District Collector barred New Year Revelries. has ordered a ban on all New Year celebrations.
Deferring to earlier order of relaxation issued by Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar on night curb for restaurants, hotels; District Administration has again imposed a night curb for all establishments. With the new order operation of restaurants, essential and non-essential shops, wine shops, bars, functions etc will be closed by 9 pm.
It is pertinent to mention that District Administration has already imposed a night curfew and section 144 in the city because of rising cases.
Collector Vimla R on Wednesday, issued an order stating that hotels, restaurants, housing societies, farm houses, open space are allowed to function till 9 pm on December 31 but imposed ban on holding new year parties/celebrations there.
Meanwhile three cases of Omicron have been detected in Nagpur on Wednesday.
