4 bookies from the city arrested
Nagpur: On the basis of a secret tip off, the cops of Crime Branch and the Detective Branch Squad raided Flat No 202, Next Ultimate Apartment, New Manish Nagar Sonegaon area and arrested the following accused for the crime of accepting bets for IPL Cricket Match between Kolkatta Knight Riders and Royal Challengers, Bangalore on May 17, 2016. The cops found that the accused were using Mobiles and Laptops for accepting bets and betting (Khaywadi and Lagwadi).
1. Dilip Nanakram Kukreja aged 26 years and a resident of Block No 15, Kuchha Jaripatka, Nagpur
2. Ravi Pawandas Gurwani aged 32 years and a resident of Plot No 353, Sindhi Colony, Khamla.
3. Kamal Gyanchand Aaswani aged 35 years and a resident of EWS/19, Housing Board Colony, Jaripatka, Nagpur
4. Jai Kishore Maghrani aged 23 years and a resident of Sidhi Colony, Khamla.

Since the cops found the accused involved in the crime, the cops registered a case under Crime No 3066/16 under Sections 4 and 5 of Bombay Prevention of Gambling Act and seized the following items

2. Lap Tops 2 Nos
3. Mobile Phones 36 Nos
4. Printer 1 Nos
5. Calculator 1 Nos
6. Set-top Box & Remote 1 Nos
7. Mobile Charger 9 Nos
8. Ledger Book 4 Nos
9. Registers with entries 4 Nos
10. Cash Rs 1595/-
11. Two-Wheelers 3 Nos
Totalling Rs 3, 65, 615/-
All the four accused were also arrested.
Assistant Police Inspector Praveen Patil is investigating the case under the guidance of In-Charge of Sonegaon Police Station Senior Police Inspector Ashok Bagul.
The entire operation was conducted under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-1) Shailesh Balkawde and In-Charge of Sonegaon Police Station Senior Police Inspector Ashok Bagul by Assistant Police Inspector Praveen Patil, Police Constable Vasant Narkhede, Mayak Police Constable Rajesh Dhkde, epoy Lalit Titarmare and Constable Anil Zade.
