Nagpur: As was rightly said by John Diamond “Cancer is a word, not a sentence” meaning one can survive the dreaded disease. The dreaded word ‘Cancer’ can instill fear even in the healthiest of people. Many people are known to feel they are dying right from the time they have been told that they have cancer.
However there are some women who have displayed bravery and are beautiful women!
They survive breast cancer, undergo mastectomy, surgery to reconstruct their breasts, undergo various cosmetic surgeries to mask their scars. These brave and beautiful women who braved Cancer and were victorious displayed their beauty at Vasantrao Deshpande Hall in a Fashion Show arranged by UWAN and LAD College for women for organizer Devta Life Foundation to felicitate and recognize their bravery on March 5, 2016.
Devta Life Foundation had been working towards taking care of Cancer patients during and after the treatment had organized this Fashion Show titled “Runragini-2016”. The show started with a dance number by kids who had survived the dreaded Cancer. Within moments many in the audience were moved to tears. On one hand they felt proud and happy that these kids overcame all difficulties and survived and on the other hand, they had a feeling that “Why did such a small kid have to undergo such pains and tribulations?
The first and the third round of the fashion show were performed by the cancer survivors titled Traditional Round and Western Round. All the women were dressed in beautiful traditional attire including Anarkalis, Lehengas & Cholis number and Sarees. The fashion show was choreographed by students of LAD College. Most of the ladies who participated in the event had seen many a sunset yet had retained their youthful looks and exuberance. The Second Round featured small children titled Summer Blush.
The cherry on the icing was the performance of a versatile singer of the city Puneet Kushwaha. Bollywood Actress Mugdha Godse made an appearance to boost the confidence of the survivors of the dreaded disease. Godse lifted the small kids when she was moved by the way the kids had fought the dreaded disease and came out vioctorious.
On the whole this was a programme was one that moved many to tears and yet was an enjoyable one.
