Nagpur: The litterateurs that created hue and cry after the Dadri incident and returned their awards are silent after the Malda violence. What happened to them, was the question raised by RSS thinker Prof Rakesh Sinha of Delhi University.
Prof Sinha said that there was a lot of hue and cry after the Dadri incident when people called the prevailing atmosphere in the country as ‘intolerent’. However, nothing is being said after the Malda incident by these litterateurs and politicians.

Prof Sinha was speaking at a seminar titled ‘Intellectual terrorism – a challenge’ organised under the aegis of Sanatan Dharma Yuvak Sabha and ‘Jammu Kashmir Study Centre’ at Bal Sadan Sanskrutik Sankul, near Katol road square on Sunday.Shrikant Bhangadia was the chief guest of the function. Sinha further said that for the past few months there is a growing tendency to politicise every issue. Those who were beating the drum of intolerence and were in the forefront of blaming the government were leftists, socialists and the secularists of the country, he said.
They caught hold of some litterateurs and carried forward their own agenda describing the atmosphere in the country as intolerent. However, these are the only people who were intolerent once upon a time and history is a witness to that. Our country’s culture is accumulative. Still, people accuse India of being intolerent. All these people should be answered on the basis of logic and facts, said Sinha.Because of the influence of all three political ideologies including the leftists, socialists and the secularists, there is a prevalence of intellectual intolerence in India, said Sinha. Prof. Sinha also criticised the policies of the MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi.

Sinha said that there was a period when there was hardly any difference between politics and social work. However, today, politics has taken over social work and even the intellectuals have become victim to it. Intelligence must be backed by right and positive thinking. If this does not happen, then intellectual terrorism arises, opined Prof. Sinha. This intellectual terrorism has to be tackled on the basis of our cultural heritage. Bhangadia too spoke on the occasion.
