Cops nab two persons for transporting cattle illegally

Nagpur: Kamptee police on Friday arrested two persons as they were found transporting a herd of five cows and calves illegally. Cops have seized the livestock and a pick up van collectively valued at Rs 5.26 lakh.

Acting on a tip-off that some persons were transporting the cattle in a pick up van, a team of Kamptee police enforced ‘Nakabandi.’ The cops stopped the pick up van (MH-40/Y 1514) and checked it. The cops found five cows and calves dumped cruelly in the van. The cattle and the van collectively worth Rs 5,20,00 were seized and the two accused Sandip Kisan Dorle (22) and Sujat Qureshi were placed under arrest.
