9000 policemen handling security arrangements in city

Nagpur News: Officials of the city police were allotted their duties on December 7 in different sections, as part of the ongoing measures to beef up security for the upcoming Winter Session in Nagpur. In all, 9000 policemen were briefed this morning, including 4000 who have been brought in from other districts for the session.

The police was instructed to keep an extra eye on Vidhan Bhavan, Ravi Bhavan, Ramgiri, Devgiri, Raj Bhavan, Hyderabad House, Deshpande Hall, Nag Bhavan, Police Gymkhana and the residences of all ministers, among other places.

Maurice College T- Point, ShreeMohini Complex, Ganesh Tekdi Road, Liberty T- Point and LIC Square are some of the area where security measures will be extremely tight. No large gatherings, processions or morchas can be brought ut from these spots during the days of the session. Yeshwant Stadium, Chacha Nehru Balodyan, Chitnavis Park Ground, Indora Ground, Reshimbag Ground are some of the select locations where Morchas will be allowed.

Commandos and the Special Police Force were given a fire- rescue session at the Police Training Centre. Some policemen have been posted at the allotted areas on Friday itself. Official and political delegations will start arriving in the city from 8th December. The police has appealed to the citizens to cooperate with the security measures.
