9 students of NMC’s two schools to present ‘Saila Dance’ in R-Day Parade

Nine students of two schools of NMC Bar Sheshrao Wankhede Vidyaniketan, Ramdaspeth and Valmiki Nagar Hindi School will be presenting “Saila Dance” at this year’s Republic Day Parade on behalf of city-based South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC). The Mayor Pravin Datke on Saturday handed over the necessary material to the nine students. The material includes blazers, suitcases, airbags, laptop bag, track suits, shoes, socks, etc.

The last year RD-Parade saw SCZCC’s team bagging the first prize for its “Songi Dance.”

The nine students Bar Sheshrao Wankhede Vidyaniketan, Ramdaspeth and Valmiki Nagar Hindi School comprise Aniket Deshbhratar, Chitra Gajbe, Ashvini Kadu, Suvarna Kumbhare, Shweta Ramteke, Vaishali Kaole, Janhavi Deveshwar, Khushbu Thakur, and Damini Shahu.

The Education Committee Chairman Gopal Bohre, Education Officer Farooq Sheikh, Deputy Municipal Commissioner Dr Ranjana lade, Additional Commissioner Ravindra Kumbhare, Bar Sheshrao Wankhede Vidyaniketan’s Headmistress Anita Bhotmange, Valmiki Nagar Hindi School’s Headmistress Sudha Welekar, Sports Officer Naresh Chaudhary have extended best wishes to the students.

On the occasion, Dilip Kaore, a class VII student of Vivekanand Nakshar Hindi Higher School was felicitated for winning Gold Medal at State-level Judo Championship organized at Pune by Sports and Youth Directorate.
