7 protesters arrested for blocking road traffic, harassing vehicle owners and heckling cops

Maratha Morcha  (1)Nagpur: Sitabuldi police have arrested seven protesters participating in a morcha on the charges blocking vehicular traffic, harassing vehicle owners and heckling policemen. The arrested protesters thus violated the terms and conditions of permission given to take out the morcha.

According to police, an organization named Mahuji Shakti Sena was given permission to take out their morcha in view of the ongoing Winter Session of Maharashtra Legislature. However, some persons participating in the morcha suddenly resorted to blocking vehicular traffic, harassing the vehicle owners and thus created traffic jams and inconvenience to road users. Moreover, when the policemen tried to clear the blockade by removing the protesting morchaites, the accused pushed and heckled them. The accused protesters by their acts also violated the terms and conditions of permission granted to take out the morcha.

Sitabuldi PSI Mate registered an offence under Sections 341, 186, 34 of the IPC and Sub-Section 135 of Mumbai Police Act and arrested Dilip Namdeorao Amre (35) of Amravati, Amol Bhagwan Ingle (32) of Satara, Anand Chandrakant Bise (30) of Satara, Anil Sopan Salve (25) of Jalna, Shivaji Vishwanath Gayakwad (33) of Usmanabad, Vishnu Shankarrao Kasve (48) of Pune and Somnath Ramchandra Kamble (32) of Usmanabad.
