6th edition of ‘Khasdar Sanskrutik Mahotsav’ begins on Dec 2 in Nagpur

Nagpur: The Khasdar Sanskrutik Mahotsav will be organised from December 2 to 11 in Nagpur. Local, national and international artists will be participating in the festival, which is a confluence of various arts such as singing, music, dance, drama, poetry, said Union Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkari on Saturday.

Addressing a press conference, Gadkari said that, many artists of national and international repute are eager to present their art at the festival. This is the sixth year of the festival, which started in 2017. The programme will be presented on the grand stage set up on the grounds of Ishwar Deshmukh College of Physical Educationat Krida Chowk in Hanuman Nagar, said Gadkari.

The festival will be inaugurated on December 2 at 6.30 pm. A colourful programme ‘Vande Mataram’ prepared by local artists will be presented on the occasion of the 75th year of Independence. The programme will include dance, drama, singing, music and other cultural programmes with involvement of 1,000 artists.

A grand 20,000 square feet stage with height of 11 feet is being constructed at the venue, Gadkari informed. Gadkari said that, the festival would be a platform for the local artists to showcase their art. This year, around 20minutes, before the main event, will be reserved for the performance of the local artists, he said.

A grand ‘Geeta Pathan’ Mahayagya with participation of 5,500 women on behalf of Sanskrit Sakhi Sabha will be organised. Balkala Academy will present programme for children, while programme of Transgender will also be organised, Gadkari said.

Eminent ghazal singer Hariharan, famous actor Manoj Joshi, lyricist Manoj Muntashir, famous actor and poet Shailesh Lodha and others will perform during the cultural festival. Chairman of the festival committee Prof Anil Sole, Vice Presidents Prof Madhup Pandey, Dr Gauri Shankar Parashar, Ashok Mankar, Dilip Jadhav, Secretary Jaiprakash Gupta, Treasurer Prof Rajesh Bagdi, members Bal Kulkarni, Sarang Gadkari, Haji Abdul Qadir, Sandeep Gavai, Sanjay Gulkari, Renuka Deshkar, Adv Nitin Telgote, Vilas Trivedi, Ashish Wandile, Chetan Kairkar, Bholanath Sahare, Kishore Patil, Manisha Kashikar and others were present at the press conference.
