62-yr old man from Odisha on bicycle mission to protect environment

Nagpur: This 62-year old man is on bicycle mission to protect environment. Mohammed Faizan Ali launched his cycling campaign from Cuttack, Odisha, to spread message on protection of environment and has pedalled a distance of 5200 km covering many states including Odisha, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra.

On reaching Nagpur, the 62-year old ‘man on mission’ was welcomed by chief of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University’s Physical Education Department Dr Vijay Datarkar and Jyotiba Physical Education College Principal. Replying to his felicitation, Mohd Faizan Ali said, “I have undertook this inter-state bicycle mission to spread awareness over appalling environment pollution. It is matter of concern that the environment is getting polluted with every passing minute,” he said.

The city’s Odiya Samaj organised a function at Jagannath Cultural Complex in Kukde Layout to welcome and felicitate Mohd Faizan Ali. India Peace Centre also held discussion. Present on the occasion include Prof Avinash Pantaone of RTMNU’s Physical Education Department, Dr Surendra Tiwari, Jyotiba Physical Education College’s Dr Mohan Kadwe, VMV College’s former Vice Principal Prof S B singh, VNIT’s cyclist Akash and a large number of students.
