60 yr old man’s accidental death turns out to be murder

Nagpur: The death of a 60-year-old man earlier dubbed as accidental by Ganeshpeth police has turned out to be a murder. The body of the deceased was found unconscious on the road. Police have arrested accused Amol alias Burya Kharsade (23) resident of Pardi behind Bhavani mandir.

On March 21, body of a 60-year-old Avinash Sitaram Dhenge resident of Cornelbagh was found unconscious on the road. He was rushed to Mayo Hospital. However doctors had pronounced him dead while treating him. Following which Ganeshpeth police registered a case of accidental death.

However during probe, some other facts came to fore, informed police.

According to police sources, on the intervening night of Thursday Kharsade and Dhenge were indulged in a fight following an argument over money. The duo, hurled abuses and later accosted each other. During the fight, Kharsade pushed 60-year-old after which he fell back on his head on the road and lost conscious. Terrified due to incident, subsequently a 23-year old accused absconded from the spot.

Police have arrested accused Kharsade under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.
