5000 cops take “I Am Responsible Citizen” oath to make Nagpur a ‘Smart City’

Nagpur: The Second Capital City of Nagpur went distinctly different as around 5000 police officials and personnel took “I Am Responsible Citizen” oath at a function organised in each of the 24 Police Stations and Traffic Department in city on Thursday (March 17) under Smart City concept.

The venture was organised to turn the city a ‘Smart City.’ The oath “I Am Responsible Citizen” reverberated at Police Commissionerate, Police Headquarters, Offices of Deputy Commissioners, six zones of Traffic Police, Special Police Branch, Crime Branch, apart from 24 Police Stations of the city. The police venture displayed their determination to make the city a Smart City at their level. Almost all higher officials as well as lower rank personnel submitted the the signed applications in their respective offices. The occasion also marked spreading awareness among citizens on cleanliness of the city, following traffic rules, cooperation to police for curbing crimes, and other important aspects a Smart City should boast off.

The oath taking functions at different departments of Nagpur Police were organised around 9.30 am simultaneously. The event was attended by Police Inspectors of respective Police Stations as well as other officials and personnel.

This novel venture got appreciation from Commissioner of Police S P Yadav, Joint Commissioner of Police Rajwardhan Sinha, Additional Commissioner Shrikant Tarwade, DCPs Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Abhinash Kumar, Ishu Sindhu, Deepali Masirkar, Vijay Pawar, Bharat Tangde and others.
