5 goons attack youth murderously, loot his friend in Ganeshpeth

Ganeshpeth Attack
Nagpur:
A gang of five goons on Sunday night attacked a youth murderously and also robbed his friend of gold chain when both the friends refused to entertain the goons with liquor. The incident took place on Central Avenue in Ganeshpeth police jurisdiction. After the assault and looting the goons fled the spot and are now subject of manhunt.

The trouble started when the complainant Ratnesh Jitendra Gupta (26) of Timki was standing near Arya Mandir on Central Avenue on Sunday night. Around 9 pm, one of the goons Faizan Khan approached Ratnesh and asked him to entertain him (Faizan) with liquor or give money for the liquor. When Ratnesh refused to meet the goon’s demand, the accused Faizan hurled abuses and threatened to implicate him in a false case. With these menacing words the accused Faizan left the spot. Scared by the goon’s threats, Ratnesh phoned his friend named Yogesh Narendra Purohit (33) of Bhoipura and told him about the incident. Sensing Ratnesh in trouble, Yogesh immediately rushed to the spot. When both friends were discussing the situation, the accused Faizan arrived there with four other accomplices and again demanded money from Ratnesh for liquor. Yogesh intervened and tried to cool down Faizan.

However, suddenly the goons whipped out knives and stabbed Yogesh on his head and neck in an attempt to kill him. The goons also thrashed Ratnesh and snatched a gold chain worth Rs 15,000 from him. Later they fled the spot. The heavily bleeding Yogesh was rushed to a hospital by Ratnesh who later recorded a statement with Ganeshpeth police.
