Nagpur: Jaripatka police booked four more persons on the charges of installing Goddess Durga idol on middle of a public road and also erecting a pandal without permission and thus violated Supreme Court directives as well as police orders in force. The pandal on the road is creating hurdles for smooth flow of vehicular traffic.
The four accused have been identified as Kamalesh Thakurdas Kewalramani, Jaideo Tarumal Lalvani, Rajesh Sukhdeo Mohavani and Harish Lalvani. The accused installed idol of Goddess Durga and also erected pandal as part of Navratri celebration on a public road in Jaripatka area without permission from concerned authorities. The accused illuminated the stage and pandal with lighting and also organized religious programmes such as Jas, Jagran on the middle of the road and threw the vehicular traffic to haywire. The act of the accused amounted to violation of Apex Court directives as well as the orders of Joint Police Commissioner in this regard.
Jaripatka PSI Dongre registered an offence against the four accused under Sections 341, 431, 188, 34 of the IPC read with Sub-Section 135 of Mumbai Police Act and probing the matter further.
