Nagpur: A gang of four goons way laid a group of friends and took away their pick-up van in Yashodhara Nagar area on Thursday night. The goons intended to loot the friends but when they found no valuables, they fled with the vehicle worth Rs 2.50 lakh.
The complainant, Ritik Kishor Gaur (19), resident of Plot No. 112, Vijay Nagar, told police that he along with his friends was going in a pick-up van (MH-49/D 3283) on Thursday night. As they reached near Oberoy Palace, Automotive Square around 11 pm, four unidentified miscreants in the age group of 25-30 years, stopped them. The accused goons thrashed Ritik for no reason and took away the pick-up van worth Rs 2.50 lakh with them. Possibility of the goons using the vehicle in another crime could not be ruled out.
Yashodhara Nagar PSI Chavan has booked the four unidentified accused under Sections 392, 34 of the IPC and looking for the vehicle.
