4 goons ransack Pride Bar in Hudkeshwar, demand Rs 40,000 ‘haptha’ from owner

Nagpur: Hudkeshwar police have launched a search for a gang of four goons who ransacked a beer bar and demanded Rs 40,000 as ‘haptha’ (extortion money) from the bar owner. The goons also threatened to kill the bar owner if he refused to pay the money.

A resident of Plot No. 26, Chandrabhaga Nagar, Hudkeshwar police jurisdiction, Jaichand Jagannathrao Gaidhane (39) owns Pride Bar in the area. Around 11 pm on Sunday, when Jaichand was handling the bar counter, the four criminals namely Sujit Chavan, resident of Narsala, Pravin Vaidya of Old Narsala and their two unidentified accomplices arrived at the bar and started ransacking the bar. The four goons demanded Rs 40,000 from Jaichand as ‘haptha’ (extortion money) and doled out a life threat to him if he refused to pay the money.

Hudkeshwar API Mole, acting on the complaint of Jaichand Gaidhane, booked the accused Sujit Chavan, Pravin Vaidya and two others under Sections 386, 323, 504, 506, 34 of the IPC and searching for them.
