33,315 students to appear for JEE (Mains) on Sunday

Nagpur News: The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Mains 2014 will begin from Sunday (April 6). It will be a paper based offline exam. The online JEE (Mains) will be held on April 9, April 11, April 12 and April 19.

Candidates qualifying for JEE Mains will be eligible for admissions to undergraduate engineering programmes in NITs, IITs and other centrally funded technical institutions in India.

A total of 33,315 students from Nagpur division will appear for the JEE (Mains) pen & paper based exam on Sunday that is scheduled to begin at 9.30 am. This exam will be for engineering and architecture courses. In Nagpur division, there are 68 exam centres for 29, 534 students of engineerig and 3,781 students of architecture.

AIEEE and MHT CET exams for admissions in engineering and architecture have been discontinued. And instead, JEE paper and pen and online exams are being conducted. 1.5 lakh students will be selected for JEE (Advance) across the country. The first paper for engineering course on Sunday will be held at 9.30 am and for architecture course the timing is from 2 pm to 5 pm.

After these exams, Computer Based Test will be held on April 9. In Nagpur, there are 35 centres for the same. For the first paper, 15044 students will appear and for second paper, 2 598 students shall appear. The students who want to go for IITs and NITs will have to come in the first 1.5 lakh slot.

CBSE would be conducting the JEE Main 2014 in pen & paper mode at different centres located in 150 cities and computer based examination will be conducted at different centres located in 281 cities across the country and abroad in April 2014.
