Nagpur News : Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) has prepared a budget of ` 313 crore for the current session 2013-2014 which is ` 50 crore more than the budget planned by the university for last year 2013-2013. For approval, the budget will be tabled in the meeting of management council (MC) on Wednesday.
It is noteworthy that university has still not provided the MC members with a copy of the agenda. As per norms, the members are provided with the copy of the agenda before the meet.
Sources predict that the budget may spark an intense debate among the members. The meeting may be halted midway for presentation of the last year budget proposal. Members cannot go through the proposal in a short time which raises the possibility of another meet.
Sources informed that the university officials told the members that a copy of the proposal will be given during the meet. Sources believe that this is NU’s attempt to get the proposal approved in haste. Senior member of MC said that he will raise this issue during the meet.
The proposal will not be passed without due perusal.
