Nagpur: Three officials of NMC’s Town Planning Department are likely to face “foreign” music for their jaunts abroad without permission of Municipal Commissioner. In fact, the officials have accepted their mistake and are waiting to be punished. The General Administration Department has completed an enquiry in this regard and submitting its report to the Municipal Commissioner soon. Now, focus is on the nature of punishment the top NMC boss hands out to the ‘guilty’ officials.
The three officials of Town Planning Department – C Zade, Branch Engineer K Gorle and P Holey – went on a foreign trip during election period. But before embarking on a visit to abroad, it is mandatory for Government employees to seek permission of concerned higher officials. In this case, the nod from Municipal Commissioner was necessary for these three officials. However, the officials formally applied only for leave but conveniently skipped permission of top NMC boss. Subsequently, on the basis of a complaint filed by Kamalesh Shah, a notice has been served to the Town Planning Department’s Officer C Zade, Branch Engineer K Gorle and P Holey. Additional Deputy Commissioner Hange has been appointed as Enquiry Officer. All these developments have put the three foreign visitors in the dock. And to escape the harsher punishment, the officials have accepted their foreign venture as a mistake, said the sources.
The General Administration Department has reportedly come to the conclusion and likely to submit its report to Municipal Corporation soon. The NMC boss, earlier, had warned that the irresponsible officials will not be spared and a stricter punishment will be handed out to them. Now, all eyes on the nature of the punishment the three officials ultimately receive.
