Nagpur: Ganeshpeth police arrested three persons on the charges of assaulting Vigilance Squad of SNDL. One member of the squad was injured critically in the attack.
The incident had occurred in the month of July this year when the SNDL Vigilance Squad was checking power thefts. The Squad found the three accused namely Mohd Sadakat, Zia-ur-Rehman and Atiqurehman and others indulging in power theft. Enraged by the SNDL action, the accused attacked the squad with iron bars in Ganjipeth locality and inflicted serious injuries on one member of the squad. They also damaged a four-wheeler of the squad.
Taking the attack on Vigilance Squad seriously, SNDL had lodged a complaint against the three power theft accused with Ganeshpeth Police Station. Since then the cops were searching for the attackers after registering a case under Sections 143, 147, 148, 323, 324, 294, 506, 418, 427 of the IPC. The cops succeeded in nabbing the three accused on Friday. They were produced in a court which sent them to police custody remand till November 6.
