3 hurt as SNDL employees clash with consumers in Sadar area, over 15 booked

Nagpur: Three persons were injured in a group clash involving SNDL employees and consumers in Mohan Nagar of Sadar area here on Wednesday night. Over 15 clashers have been booked by the police over complaint and counter complaint.

The trouble started when two friends namely Ram Vijay Kukde (30), resident of Khalasi Line, Mohan Nagar and Ajay Rajhans Gupta were talking to each other in front of their house around 9 pm on Wednesday. Meanwhile, a group of SNDL employees namely Prakash Gajbhiye, Sonu Dhawde, Swapnil Tembhurne and their 7-8 accomplices arrived at the spot and started a wordy duel with Ram Kukde and Ajay Gupta. The accused SNDL employees questioned Ram and Ajay as to why they often lodge complaints at SNDL office and harass their ‘Sahab’ (officer). The wordy duel soon turned into thrashing of Ram and Ajay at the hands of accused SNDL employees.

Sadar PSI Jamdade, based on a complaint of Ram Kukde, booked the accused SNDL employees under Sections 323, 143, 147, 506 of IPC and probing the matter further.

In the meanwhile, in a counter complaint, the accused SNDL employee Prakash Budhaji Gajbhiye (39), resident of Khalasi Line, Mohan Nagar, told police that Ram Kukde, Ajay Gupta and their 5-7 accomplices accosted him when he was returning home around 9.30 pm on Wednesday. The accused Ram, Ajay and others allegedly threatened Prakash Gajbhiye to quit SNDL job or face dire consequences. With these threatening words, the accused Ram, Ajay and others resorted to beating Prakash severely.

Acting on the counter complaint of Prakash Gajbhiye, the Sadar PSI Jamdade this time booked Ram Kukde, Ajay Gupta and others under Sections 323, 143, 147, 504, 506 of IPC.
