3 goons threaten to kill doctor, demand Rs 1.50 lakh extortion money

exostationNagpur: Dhantoli police have mounted a hunt to nab an unidentified mobile phone holder and his two accomplices for making a threatening call to a doctor and demanding extortion money of Rs 1.50 lakh. The accused trio threatened to kill the doctor if he failed to meet the extortion demand.

Dr Sudhir Ramesh Meshram (34), who runs Radharatan Clinic at Lokmat Square, received frequent phone calls between May 18 and 28 from mobile phone 7721063578. The unidentified call and his two accomplices threatened to kill Dr Sudhir Meshram and demanded extortion money of Rs 1.50 lakh for sparing him.

With these scary phone calls, the two accomplices of the unidentified phone caller, aged 20-25 years, went to the clinic of Dr Meshram and demanded the amount. It is not clear whether the doctor paid the extortion money or not but he registered a complaint with Dhantoli police in this regard.

The Investigating PSI Mesre has booked the unidentified three accused under Sections 387, 34 of IPC and launched a hunt to apprehend them.
