A delegation from Germany’s Karlsruhe City participated in the event
Nagpur: The 3 day workshop ‘Mobilise Your City’ organised by Nagpur Smart and Sustainable City Development Corporation Limited (NSSCDCL) at NMC concluded on Friday. A delegation from Germany’s Karlsruhe City, led by Karlsruhe Economic Development Department Innovation Head Ralf Eichhorn, participated in the programme and praised various development works being carried out in city. The delegation was in city in accordance with an agreement signed by NMC under ‘City to City Pairing’ programme with Karlsruhe City.
Other dignitaries present on the concluding day of the workshop, held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Administrative Building of NMC, include CEO of Smart City project Dr Ramnath Sonavane, other members of German delegation Steffen Buhl, Prof DrAnke Karmann-Woessner, Ing Jan Riel, Oliver Will, Iris Becker, Ashish Pandit, Ashish Verma and Devendra Mahajan, Vijay Banginwar, S K Singla, Rajesh Dupare, Chief General Manager of Smart City, other members of German delegation Steffen Buhl, ProfDrAnkeKarmann-Woessner, Ing Jan Riel, Oliver Will, Iris Becker, Ashish Pandit, Ashish Verma and Devendra Mahajan, Vijay Banginwar, S K Singla, Executive Director of Maha Metro, Mahesh Gupta, Additional General Manager, Shivaji Jagtap, Transport Manager, and others.
The German delegation had also visited Nagpur in January and witnessed development works. “We have got another opportunity and we all are very much impressed by the rapid progress of development works. Nagpur will be a role model due to Metro, Smart City and other development works,” the delegation said.
The German delegation which paid a visit to ‘City Operation Centre’ at NMC praised the initiative for monitoring traffic management in city and keeping a watch on criminal activities. “We will try to set up such ‘hi-tech’ traffic system Karlsruhe City and entire Germany as such. For this, help of Nagpur authorities will be sought,” said Karlsruhe Economic Development Department’s Innovation Head Ralf Eichhorn.
“THE environment friendly transport system in Karlsruhe City in Germany is good for health. Such type of transport system will be beneficialforIndiatoo,”said Abhijit Bangar, Municipal Commissioner of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) while addressing a workshop.
The German delegation was felicitated at the hands of CEO of NSSCDCL Dr Ramnath Sonavane.
