Nagpur: The 3-Day Convention of All India National Education Confederation (Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshanik Mahasangh), being held at Reshimbagh here in the city, was inaugurated by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on October 9, Friday. Thousands of teachers belonging to Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh will be participating in the three-day convention.

In his inaugural address, CM Devendra Fadnavis said, no nation can progress forgetting its roots, particularly the national policy. Unfortunately, the current educational policy does not imbibe the national spirit, he observed.
According to him, prior to British Raj, our educational policy was human values-based and also spiritually rich, but the English policy under a well wrought conspiracy crippled our Indian values-based educational policy to such an extent the nation has not been able to adopt a comphrehensive educational policy.

He claimed that if India wanted to become a developed nation, it should remain attached to its roots, for no nation could ever prosper and achieve the goal without remaining attached its roots. He lamented that the educational policy and thought process of the country is gripped by leftist intellectuals.

He pointed out that the leftist intellectuals created the system of their choice, discarding the basic roots of the India’s educational policy. He regretfully said, if one wants to adopt one’s original educational and intellectual policy, some people and leftist intellectuals criticize it terming it as imposing ‘Bhagwakana’ (saffronization).
The Chief Minister, underlining the significant role of teachers in nation-building, called on the teachers to execute their national responsibility in the lap of our ancient and richest culture, so that our various problems might find solutions through education.

He criticized the old policies which are responsible for commercialization of education and double standard policy of education.
