3 con persons dupe man, private bank of Rs 37.50 lakh in property deal

Nagpur: Hudkeshwar police have booked three persons including two members of a family on the charges of defrauding a middle aged man and private bank to the tune of Rs 12.50 lakh and Rs 25 lakh respectively.

According to police, the complainant Vijay Mati Menon (49), resident of Flat No. 502, Mahalaxmi Apartment, Shivaji Nagar, negotiated a deal with the accused Sunil Sitaram Ambekar (49) and Neha Sitaram Ambekar (45), both residents of Plot No. 1, near Reshimbagh Water Tank, for purchase of Flat No. 201 situated at Wing F of Shridhar Empire Apartment, Mauza Besa, Khasra No. 66/A/1. Vijay Menon paid Rs 12.58 lakh to the two accused in the form of DD for the flat purchase deal. The accused Sunil and Neha Ambekar encashed the DD and promised Vijay Menon to do the sale agreement within 60 days.

In the meantime, the two accused lodged a false complaint with Sakkardara police that the flat documents had got lost. On the basis the bogus complaint, the accused procured duplicate documents of the flat and sold the flat to third accused Keshav Parshuram Sonekar (43), resident of Plot No. 134 N, Reshimbagh, Nagmodi Layout. The accused Sunil and Neha Ambekar also facilitated a finance of Rs 25 lakh from Mahendra Rural Finance Bank to the accused Keshav Sonekar for purchase of the flat.

Thus the accused trio systematically duped Vijay Menon and Mahendra Rural Finance Bank to the tune of Rs 12.58 lakh and Rs 25 lakh respectively.Hudkeshwar API Ghodke has booked the three accused under Sections 420, 406, 34 of the IPC and launched investigations.
