3 city men cheat Bangalore-based man to the tune of Rs 2.20 crore in land deal

In a well-planned conspiracy, three Nagpur-based men cheated a Bangalore man and his mother to the tune of Rs 2.20 crore in a land deal. The three accused have been booked by the cops.

According to police, the three accused Abhay Mukund Bharti (40), resident of Plot No. 83, Ramnagar, Shashank Govindprasad Pande (49), resident of ‘Brahmakunj,’ Plot No. 539, Ramdaspeth, and Shashikant Narayan Puri (62), resident of Ganesh Apartment, Kotwal Nagar, conspired with each other and negotiated a land deal in posh area of the city with Sanjit Shashikant Shende (50), resident of 101, Rajeshwari Enclave Site, Cross Maroti Layout, Vasantpura, Bangalore. The deal pertained to the 8000 sq ft Plot No. N/3 of Scientific Society, Laxminagar, for Rs 3.84 crore. According to the deal, the three accused gave Rs 1 crore to Sanjit Shende and his mother and flat was also to be given. The remaining amount of Rs 2.20 crore was given through a cheque. However, the cheque bounced and thus Sanjit was cheated by the three accused.

On the basis of a complaint lodged by Sanjit Shende the Pratapnagar PSI Ghodam registered an offence under Sections 420, 34 of the IPC and Sub-Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act against the three accused Abhay Mukund Bharti, Shashank Govindprasad Pande and Shashikant Narayan Puri and probing the matter further.
