3 arrested in poultry farm watchman’s murder in Shivangaon

Nagpur: In a swift action, Sonegaon police cracked the murder of watchman of a poultry farm and arrested three accused within two hours of the crime coming to light. The arrested accused have been identified as Manohar alias Manya Banduji Bhonde (38), Vrushabh Chandan Netam (19) and Amol Shyamrao Manwatkar (35), all residents of Shivangaon.

According to details, the deceased Yashwant Pintuji Raut (45), a resident of Shivangao, was working as a watchman at the poultry farm owned by Devendra Rangrao Ashtankar in the same area. It is learnt that the three accused had stolen chickens from the poultry farm in the night of Monday (March 28) and were partying afterr consuming liquor. As the deceased Yashwant came to know that the accused had stolen chickens, he went to the spot where the trio were “enjoying” the stuff and had a wordy duel with them. After the heated argument, the thtree accused threatened Yashwant of dire consequenses if he spoiled their party. But soon left the place only to be returned, equipped with sharp-edged weapons. The accused trio attacked Yashwant and stabbed him repeatedly. After Yashwant collapsed, the raging accused smashed his head with bricks and killed him on the spot. The murder came to light on Tuesday morning when some passersby spotted Yashwant lying in pool of blood dead.

On being informed, a team of Sonegaon police reached the spot and started investigation. Zone-1 DCP Shailesh Balkawde and Senior Police Inspector Arun Jagtap too rushed to the crime scene and directed a speedy probe. Based on the complaint lodged by Devrao Pintuji Raut and an eye-witness Sandeep Bele who had seen the three accused and deceased Yashwant having wordy duel on the night of the incident, cops arrested the trio Manohar alias Manya Banduji Bhonde, Vrushabh Chandan Netam and Amol Shyamrao Manwatkar. The accused have been booked under Sections 302, 34 of IPC. Further probe is underway.
