3 arrested for illicit transport of liquor under different police stations

Illicit liquor being transported under the jurisdiction of Bhivapur police station and also under the jurisdiction of Khapa police station was seized on Oct 25, at different places.

Under Bhivapur police station the illicit liquor was seized between 13.30 and 14.00 pm. The police on being informed secretly laid a nakabandi on Umred to Bhisi road, about 20 kms from Bhivapur and stopped truck No. MH 34/ E-7913 and when checked it recovered 30 nips of foreign liquor valuing about Rs 6,000 and 127 nips of country-made liquor valuing Rs 6,350.

The police also arrested accused Suhas Shamrao Nannware, 23, resident of Savargaon village under Chimur taluka of Chandrapur district. Total seizure made including the cost of vehicle values Rs 32,380. A case under sections 65 (a,e) Mumbai Prohibition Act has been registered against the accused.
Under the guidance of SP Dr Arati Singh, the police action was executed by Bhivapur PI Manish Divate and his staff. Further investigation is underway.

Under the jurisdiction of Khapa police station, 2 persons were arrested for transporting illicit liquor in vehicle No. MH 31/ Y-5260. The police laid a nakabandi on Oct 25, between 11 and an 11.30 am in Kolegaon area, 3 kms away from Khapa and stopped the vehicle. When checked the police recovered 600 litres of mauha-flower country liquor in rubber tube worth Rs 7,000, and arrested accused 1) Raja Ranglal Pawar, 20, and 2) Pintu Motisingh Pawar, 20, both residents of Saoner.

The total seizure including cost of vehicle values Rs 57,000. Khapa police have registered a case against the accused under section 65 (a) Mumbai Prohibition Act.

The police action was executed by PSI Mandave and his staff under guidance of SP Dr Arati Singh. Further investigation is underway.
