25,600 students appear for MH-CET exams in the city

Over 25, 600 students appeared for the MH-CET exams conducted for the admissions to Health Science, Engineering and Pharmacy courses.

With the recent dispute over the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), Maharashtra Government had held a combined a Common Entrance Test (CET) for the admissions to Health Science, Engineering and pharmacy courses on May 5, 2016. After a long gap, the State Government had given the responsibility to Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) of conducting the CET. The first paper of Physics and Chemistry began at 10 am on May 5, 2016.

It could be mentioned here that recently, during the AIPMT exams held on May 1, 2016 students had to return home without appearing in examination since they failed to reach the examination centre on time.
While speaking to media persons, the In-charge of CET exams in the city Dr S N Parate said that CET exams is to be held at 56 centres in the city.

According to sources, a total of 25,667 students had appeared for the test in the city.
