2 notorious vehicle lifters nabbed, 7 two-wheelers seized

Nagpur: In a major breakthrough, Crime Branch Unit 2 rounded up two notorious vehicle lifters and recovered seven two-wheelers stolen from different areas.

Cops arrested Mohammed Abid Haneef Ansari (25), resident of Teka Sidharth Nagar, and Mohammed Dilshad Mohd Raees Ansari (22), resident of Mominpura, near Abbumiya Masjid but currently staying at Teka Sidharth Nagar, near Roshan School.

The seized two-wheelers include five Activa mopeds, one Jupiter moped and one Hero Honda Splendour motorcycle collectively worth Rs 3.25 lakh. With the arrest of the two accused, the Crime Branch has cracked seven vehicle lifting cases including three cases in Jaripatka police jurisdiction, three in Pachpaoli and one case in Ambazari police jurisdiction.

On September 14, 2018, a resident of Tajnagar Teka, Malik Mushtaq Khan (22), had lodged a complaint with Pachpaoli police that his white-coloured Activa moped (MH-49/AZ 8088) worth Rs 40,000 was stolen from parking lot of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Park, Vaishali Nagar, Pachpaoli between 5.45 pm and 6 pm. After registering the case, Pachpaoli police handed over the probe to Crime Branch Unit 2.

After painstaking investigations, the sleuths zeroed in on the two accused Mohammed Abid Haneef Ansari and Mohammed Dilshad Mohd Raees Ansari and recovered seven two-wheelers stolen from different areas.

The arrest was made by PI Anchal Mudgal, API Jitendra Bobde, PSI Rajkumar Tripathi, ASIs Mohanlal Shahu, Sitanath Pandey, and other staff including Prashant Deshmukh, Santosh Madankar, Santosh Nikhar, Manjitsingh Thakur, Yogesh Gupta, Sagar Thakre, and driver Ninaji Tayde under the guidance of DCP (Crime) Sambhaji Kadam, and ACP Sanjiv Kamble.
