2 men cheat Delhi-based publication houses of Rs 8.36 lakh by printing duplicate books

Nagpur: Sakkardara police have booked two men on the charges of publishing duplicate books in the name of two reputed publication houses of Delhi. The accused also forged holograms of the two companies and sold the duplicate books as original ones. The two publication houses were put to the financial loss of Rs 8.36 lakh by the two conmen.

The two accused, Nitin Ashok Deshmukh (29), resident of Plot No. 68, Bhande Plot, Gawalipura and Rajesh Shravan Lanjewar, approached Sanyog Printing and Binding Works/Sanyog Binding Works, situated in Bhande Plot, and ordered printing of duplicate books in the name of reputed New Delhi-based publication houses — Laxmi Publication and Chand & Company. The two accused also forged holograms of the two publication houses to show the duplicate books as original ones. The duplicate books were later sold and the two publication houses were put to loss of Rs 8.36 lakh. However, as the cheating came to the fore, an official of the publication houses named Sanjit Kumar Raghuvirsingh Raghav (42), native of Swarna Jayanti Puram, Gaziabad, registered a case against the two accused with Sakkardara police on Sunday, November 7, 2017.

PSI Tiwari, acting on the complaint, booked the two accused Nitin Deshmukh and Rajesh Lanjewar under Sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 474 of the IPC and launched an in-depth probe into the matter.
