2 goons nabbed in Rs 7 lakh theft case of Satranjipura

Acting on clinching clues, Lakadganj police and Crime Branch jointly succeeded in nabbing two young miscreants who had burgled booty worth Rs 7 lakh including Rs 3.40 lakh cash from a man’s house in Satranjipura on January 10.
The accused burglars have been identified as Shufiyan Sheikh Irfan Sheikh (20) and Sheikh Tausif Mohd Rashid (19), both residents of Satranjipura. According to details, the complainant Mohd Iqbal Abdul Aziz 53), resident of Satranjipura, was performing daughter’s marriage on January 10, 2017 and gone to Sable Lawn, Kalamna along with other family members.

Mohd Iqbal had locked his house. Taking advantage of the situation, the two accused climbed the terrace of his house from rear side and gained entry into the bedroom Mohd Iqbal’s house. Once inside, the two accused laid their hands on gold jewellery worth Rs 3.60 lakh and cash Rs 3.40 lakh kept in an almirah. At that time Lakadganj police had registered a theft case and launched a search to nab the offenders.


During investigation, cops received clinching clues about involvement of the two accused in the burglary. Subsequently, both the accused Shufiyan Sheikh Irfan Sheikh and Sheikh Tausif Mohd Rashid were nabbed on January 28 night. During further questioning, both the accused confessed their role in the theft. Cops have recovered gold ornaments worth Rs 2.25 lakh and cash Rs 25,900 from the possession of the arrested accused.
