2 college students attacked murderously in a brawl over a girl

Nagpur: A quarrel between two college students turned bloody and led to murderous attacks on two boys in Sitabuldi area on Monday afternoon. The fracas erupted over a girl of the same college. Four accused youngsters have been booked in this connection.

According to the police, the complainant Sulabh alias Prince Ravi Tumdam (18), resident of Panditpura, Mahal and the accused Amir Samir Sheikh (21) of Gautam Nagar study in the same college. A brawl erupted between the two students over a girl of the same college sometime back. However, on Monady around 4 pm, when Sulabh was talking with his friend Pawan Zade at Vasantrao Naik Ground in front of the college in Sitabuldi, the accused Amir Samir Sheikh and his accomplices Ashish Purshottam Pal (22) of Babafarid Nagar, Abhijit Ganeshlal Gupta (20) of Sadar and a boy named Vinayak started beating Sulabh. When Pawan tried to intervene he was attacked with a gupti-like weapon on his chest and stomach in a bid to murder him. After the grievous attack on Pawan, the four accused again started thrashing Sulabh severely with the motive to kill him. Later the foursome fled the spot. The seriously injured Pawan and Sulabh were taken to GMCH and admitted there.

On the basis of a plaint filed by Sulabh, Sitabuldi Lady PSI Shende has booked the four accused under Sections 307, 34 of IPC read with Sub-Section 135 of Mumbai Police Act. Unconfirmed reports say that three of the accused have been arrested.
