2 brothers cheat man of Rs 10 lakh in land deal in Wathoda

Nagpur: Wathoda police booked two brothers on the charges of cheating a man to the tune of Rs 10 lakh in land deal. The accused duo also threatened the man of dire consequences when he tried to take possession of the land.

The complainant, Pravin Vasudevrao Gavre (45), resident of Sarvashri Nagar, said that he had purchased a plot in Adivasi Layout for Rs 10 lakh from the accused Rambhau Bapurao Kannake (60), resident of Somwari Quarters and Vijay Bapurao Kannake (55), resident of Plot No. 61, Adivasi Layout. The deal was done on June 10, 2003. However, on Wednesday morning, when Pravin went to the plot for taking possession, the two accused brothers refused to hand over the plot to him. The accused also demanded additional Rs 2 lakh for possession of the plot. Pravin was also threatened of dire consequences if he did not pay Rs 2 lakh to the accused.

Wathoda API Mete has registered a case under Sections 420, 406, 465, 384, 504, 506, 34 of the IPC against the accused duo and probing the matter further.
