Nagpur: Yashodhara Nagar police have arrested a 19-year old boy on the charges of exploiting a minor girl sexually for over one year with marriage promise.
A resident of Dhammanand Nagar, under Yashodhara Nagar police jurisdiction, the accused Pranay Prakash Lanjewar (19), in April 2017 got acquainted with the 15-year old girl. The accused Pranay after some days told the minor girl that he was in love with her and promised to marry with her.
With this “promise,” Pranay took the kid girl to various places and abused her sexually for over a year. The victimised girl, however, realised that Pranay was not interested in marrying her and was exploiting her. Finally, she registered a case with Yashodhara Nagar police in this connection.
Police Constable Rajesh Nasre, acting on the complaint, booked the accused Pranay Nasre under Section 376(2)(1) of the IPC read with Sections 4, 8 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act and arrested him. Further probe is underway.
