Rape-Victim
Nagpur: A 17-year old student was raped frequently by a youth by ‘promising’ to marry her. The accused has been booked but not arrested so far.

The accused, Nikhil Vasantrao Hatwar (24), resident of Nandanvan area, befriended the 17-year old girl student, resident of the same basti in January, 2016. Both the accused and the girl exchanged their mobile phone numbers and remained in contact with each other. As their love “blossomed” the accused doled out a marriage promise to the girl and took her to Bhandara and exploited her sexually frequently. When the girl reminded the accused Nikhil about his marriage promise, he refused to keep his “word” and left her devastated.

Nandanvan PSI N P Mohod registered an offence against the accused under Sections 363, 376 of the IPC read with Sub-Sections 3, 4 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). Further investigation is underway.
