15-yr old mentally challenged girl goes missing from RPTS

In an appalling incident, a mentally challenged girl went missing from a busy area in the city on Tuesday. The helpless girl is reported to have been kidnapped.

According to details, the complainant Vijay Ramaji Pethe (48), resident of Dahegaon, Khaparkheda, works at a School for Mentally Challenged Children. On Tuesday (Oct 5), the school undertook a trip to Nagpur and the mentally challenged children were put up at Sudarshan Sabhagruha (Hall) situated near RPTS.

One of the girls, aged 15 years, came out of the hall after meal between 10.15 am and 6 pm and since then went missing. A search to trace the mentally challenged girl at different places failed. Finally, a missing complaint was filed at Pratap Nagar Police Station.

Acting on the complaint, PSI Godmale, following directives of Supreme Court that if any minor girl or boy goes missing then the case should be treated as that of kidnapping, has registered an offence under Section 363 of IPC and searching to trace the missing kid.
