Nagpur News: The Director of Library Department of Nagpur Bansod, taking serious note of absolutely poor working and facilities, has cancelled the recognition 15 public libraries. There are in all 249 public libraries in Nagpur. Out of these libraries, the condition of only 130 libraries was found satisfactory, 101 libraries were given a list of corrective steps to be taken after finding the working of these libraries unsatisfactory. The status of three libraries was increased after their outstanding work.
Bansod informed that the an enquiry was conducted by the Revenue Department of all Government recognized libraries. But before the enquiry, the officials of Revenue Department were given a special training and were apprised about the minutes so that they can carry out proper enquiry of libraries. Unfortunately, a few of them could carry out proper enquiry.
