Nagpur: A 14-year old boy was abducted midway when he returning home by a school bus in Sitabuldi area on Tuesday midnight. Cops have launched a search to trace the boy. However, the baffling reason why the boy was returning home by school bus at odd hours in the midnight could not be verified.

Rajesh Madhukar Rannavare (48), resident of Flat No. 204, Mayureshwar Apartment, Ayurvedic Layout, Bhandeplot Square, told police that his son Pradyumna (14) was returning home by his school bus between 1.15 am and 4.30 am on Tuesday. Midway, Pradyumna disembarked the school bus near Maheshwar Bhavan in Sitabuldi by telling the driver that his father is coming to pick him up. However, he did not return home and since then went missing. The boy’s father and other relatives searched him frantically at all possible places but could not find him. Finally, a missing complaint was lodged with Sitabuldi police.

PSI K R Gavai, as per the Supreme Court directives that if a minor boy or girl goes missing then the case should be treated as that of kidnapping, has registered the case under Section 363 of the IPC and launched a massive search to trace the 14-year old boy.

Similarly, a 14-year old girl also went missing from Sitabuldi area in the morning of Tuesday. The girl left home at about 9.30 am without informing her relatives and did not return. A search to locate her proved futile.

Sitabuldi PSI K R Gavai, in this case also followed the Apex Court directives and registered a case under Section 363 of the IPC and searching her.
