Nagpur: Heavy to moderate rains up to 127.6 mm lashed many parts of the Second Capital of the State on Monday, bringing down minimum temperature to 22.6 degrees Celsius. Notably, the Regional Meteorological Department (RMC) of India Meteorological Department (IMD) has already forecasted widespread rain over Nagpur and nearby districts.
With incessant rains on Monday, the maximum temperature in Nagpur dropped to 26.1 degrees Celsius. RMC has predicted more rains for the district and regions of Vidarbha.
“Thunderstorm with lightning very likely at isolated places over Nagpur and Bhandara,” reads the RMC prediction.
“Light to moderate rainfall likely to continue at many places over Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Bhandara, Wardha and Nagpur, at few places over Amravati and Gondia, at isolated places over Yavatmal, Washim and Akola districts of Vidarbha,” it mentioned and further added that, “Possibility of intense spell of rainfall at few places over Bhandara and at isolated places over Nagpur.”
It pertinent to mention that Nagpurians, on Monday, woke up to heavy to moderate rains. with water logged roads, students and officer goers found it different to commute. The brief spell of rain has again exposed precautionary measures taken by Nagpur Administration ahead of Monsoon.
