11th Civil Services Day observed at Divisional Commissioner’s office

Nagpur: “Organisation of Civil Services Day is an apt occasion for sharing experiences and thoughts a civil servant gains while implementing various government schemes. Today’s youths are making efforts to be part of civil services. Observation of Civil Services Day will help them as an encouragement in their efforts to re-dedicate themselves to the cause of the citizens and renew their commitment to public service,” stated the Divisional Commissioner Anup Kumar.

Anup Kumar was speaking at the 11th Civil Services Day celebration organised at the office of Divisional Commissioner. Other officials present on the occasion include Commissioner of Police Dr K Venkatesham, Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar, NIT Chairman Dr Deepak Mhaisekar, Postmaster General Mariamma Thomas, IRS Officer Rajkumar Ghosh, Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Papalkar, Parag Soman, DCP Deepali Masirkar, ZP CEO Dr Kadambari Balkawde and other civil service officials.

The Divisional Commissioner further said that the government is implementing Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Digital Payments, Digidhan, Jandhan and other several such schemes. These schemes are being implemented and completed successfully. In future, officials of various departments should make efforts for speedy and successful implementation of government schemes with the mantra of ‘reform,’ ‘perform,’ and ‘transform,’ stated Anup Kumar.


The Commissioner of Police Dr K Venkatesham threw light on e-challan system being implemented by city police. “The percentage of following traffic rules by citizens is increasing. Incidents of road accidents are decreasing,” said the top cop.

The Postmaster General Mariamma Thomas informed the gathering that postal services are being provided to adivasi, interior, hilly terrains successfully. “The postal department even works on festivals, government holidays for providing services to the citizens,” said Thomas.


The Municipal Commissioner Sharvan Hardikar, NIT Chairman Dr Deepak Mhaisekar, IRS Officer Rajkumar Ghosh also spoke on the occasion and apprised the gathering about various services being provided to citizens.

The event was conducted by DCP Deepali Masirkar. She also proposed a vote of thanks.
