Nagpur:
Budget dedicated to farmers of the state with budgetary allocations focused on farm, irrigation and infrastructure, with a balanced view on rural, tourism, healthcare, education and social sectors. Make in Maharashtra remains a campaign slogan on paper with nothing in the budget to boost investment in industry in state especially when we have lost the number 1 position of Investment Destination.

No announcement on farm loan waiver, despite demands from the opposition and Shiv Sena. No new taxes expect VAT increase in liquor and weekly lottery is welcome. Tax on card swiping machines brought to zero from 13% to promote digital payments, Current tax concessions on food grains, spices, towels and Solapur bedsheets to continue is appreciated.

Vidarbha and Nagpur considered for various schemes, allocation of funds to MIHAN and Metro Rail is appreciated.

Not increasing VAT rates considering the financial health of the state is welcome. To boost industries in Vidarbha and Marathwada Rs. 1000 Cr. Set aside for incentives is a small but welcome move.
