Nagpur: The main accused in Purva Hedau death case Siraj Sheikh was on Monday granted bail by the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) P D Sawant. However, in a turn of event, he was arrested in the court premises itself in Manoj Katgaye death case and remanded to Police Custody for two days.
Notably, Siraj Sheikh, owner of a farmhouse near Kalmeshwar, was arrested when the 18-year old Purva Sanjay Hedau mysteriously drowned in the swimming pool of the farmhouse on Thursday (September 10) while partying with a group of friends. The group was celebrating a birthday party thrown by one of their friends. After facing the heat from all quarters including a hostile media, Kalmeshwar cops had on Saturday arrested Siraj Sheikh. The JMFC court had remanded Siraj Sheikh to 3-day PCR. As the PCR ended today, he was produced in the court. The court of JMFC P D Sawant granted Siraj Sheikh a bail in the case.
However, when an incident involving another young man named Manoj Katgaye, who slipped into the swimming pool of the same farmhouse and later died in Nagpur while being taken to a hospital on September 8, surfaced and grabbed headlines, Kalmeshwar police immediately arrested the bailed out Siraj Sheikh. He was produced before JMFC Court and the Judge P D Sawant remanded him to Police Custody for two days.
