    Probe ordered against Meditrina Hospital for MJPJAY irregularities

    Nagpur: Notorious for controversies, the Ramdaspeth-based Meditrina Hospital is set to face inquiry from Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) for alleged irregularities authorized in the hospital under Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana (MJPJAY). On the basis of the concerned complaint, NMC Medical Officer Dr Narendra Bahirwar has ordered a probe.

    Free treatment of patients is being done under Mahatma Phule Jan Swasth Jeevandayi Yojana. Congress MLA Vikas Thakre has alleged that the Meditrina Hospital had approved a bill worth Rs 2 crore from the government showing bogus beneficiaries. He also raised the issue through a calling attention motion in the State Assembly and demanded to cancel the license of the hospital.

    Thakre also alleged that the hospital had ignored the recovery of bills and rules during Covid period. Following which Dr Bahirwar has ordered a probe under Section 5 of Nursing Home Act-1949 and constituted a committee.
