    Petrol price touches Rs 90.91/litre mark, diesel at Rs 81.13/litre

    Nagpur: Fuel prices are showing consistent hike for the past few days leaving the consumers red-faced. Cost of petrol in the city has not only breached the physiological mark of Rs 90 per litre in the last week but it has also touched the level of Rs 90.91 per litre on Monday. Diesel rate has also shown a proportionate hike during the period to touch Rs 81.13 per litre mark.

    The oil marketing companies (OMCs) have started raising the retail price from mid November after keeping the fuel prices unchanged for a long time. On Monday, the fuel prices have seen a hike for the sixth consecutive day. Till November 19, petrol was at Rs 88.35 per litre while diesel price was at Rs 77.51 per litre. In the past 18 days, the petrol and diesel prices have gone up considerably giving tough time to consumers who are already bearing the brunt of the ongoing pandemic.

    The current price of petrol is very close to its all time high of the Rs 91.91 per litre recorded in October 2018. Notably, the current petrol price is at two-year high.
