Nagpur: Going green as a theme has caught attention of wedding planners now. Quite a few weddings in the city are trying to incorporate ‘green values’ in a bid to catch attention and create awareness as well.

A recent weddings held in Bhim Chowk area had the ‘baraatis’ holding environment protection messages as they walked in the wedding procession. The dress code was green and the car in which the groom travelled was decorated with leaves instead of flowers.

Rahul Motwani, event manager told Nagpur Today that, the wedding was on June 6 this year, a day after World Environment Day and thus this idea was derived in my mind. Subsequently, I approached Wadhwani family and told them about this idea. They were quite excited about this unique theme.

Mothwani also mentioned that this wedding was registered in Limca Book of Records, as first time a wedding was based on an environmental theme.
